This section will give you everything you need to know about
registering your child(ren) in the SBAST summer program.
We are pleased that you have decided to participate in our swim
league. Here is what you need to know:
Eligibility and Try-outs
Swimmers are eligible to join the team if they are 18 years
of age or under as of May 1st of each season. To join the
team for the first time, a swimmer must swim the following
distances without holding onto the sides of the pool, the lane
ropes or touching the bottom for any reason until the required
length is accomplished.
Age 8 and under: one stroke, 25 yards
Age 9-12: two strokes, 25 yards each
Age 13 and up: two strokes, 50 yards each
Returning members are not required to try out if they have
been off the team for less than two years. Any returning
member that has been away from the team for two or more years
must try out according to the above schedule.
2007 Registration Fees
The fees to join the team for the 2007 swim season are as
follows:

* USS Swimmers are required to provide their USS membership
number at the time of registration in order to receive the
discount. They are encouraged to attend SBAST practices
and all other team functions.
The registration fee includes a team T-shirt if registered
before May 1, 2007. Additional t-shirts may be ordered and
paid for at registration, also if before May 1, 2007. A
parent must fill out the registration form, sign the waivers and
pay the registration fee before a swimmer may attend practices
or meets.
Late Registration
Swimmers may register late, at Monday practices through May
14, 2007. There is no pro-rated registration fees and the
swimmer is not guaranteed a team T-shirt.
Refunds
Swimmers who decide not to continue swimming on the team may
receive a 50% refund if requested within five (5) scheduled
practice days from the day they join. No refunds will be
given after this time. A scheduled practice is any day a
regularly scheduled practice session is held. The purpose
of this rule is to give swimmers five (5) full practice
sessions to decide whether or not they want to continue with the
